West Ham United have been fairly busy in the summer market as Julen Lopetegui looks to strengthen his squad early on in his tenure.
The Hammers have already signed three new players this summer, bringing in Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham and Max Kilman.
However, West Ham have suffered a setback on the transfer front this week, with their pursuit of Noussair Mazraoui falling through.
With the Bayern Munich player seemingly favouring a potential move to Manchester United, the Hammers will now have to look elsewhere.
Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on a right-back who has been linked with West Ham throughout the summer.

West Ham have great relationship with Aaron Wan-Bissaka agents
The player in question is Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who Man United are seemingly trying to move on so they can close a deal for Mazraoui.
“Let’s see if Man United can find a solution for Wan-Bissaka,” Romano said on YouTube. “Maybe West Ham because Mazraoui is not going to West Ham.
“This is the situation of Mazraoui, waiting to see what happens at Man United with Wan Wissaka and waiting to see if West Ham will try to reactivate the option of Wan Bissaka.
“The relationship between West Ham and the agents of the player, of Wan Bissaka, are excellent.
“But it depends on the player and what he wants to do probably waiting for other options so we have to wait.”
Wan-Bissaka also a great option for West Ham
Although missing out on Mazraoui is disappointing, Wan-Bissaka would also be a superb acquisition for West Ham.
The £45million man is a player of the highest quality, who some peers – such as England international James Maddison – have labelled as world-leading.
Wan-Bissaka has considerable Premier League experience and, at just 26 years of age, is only just heading into his prime.
Better still, the Hammers could potentially sign him for a bargain price, with a £17million valuation doing the rounds on the rumour mill.
Obviously it’s up to Wan-Bissaka, so the next few weeks – or maybe even days – will be crucial as he decides where his future lies.
