'Horrible': Jamie Redknapp slams two Manchester United players for their efforts v Nott'm Forest

Manchester United put up yet another dismal performance tonight as they went to Nottingham Forest in the late kick-off.

Erik ten Hag’s men produced a late comeback against Aston Villa last time out to put some fresh hope into their season. However, tonight’s effort at Forest was back to the norm and they once again looked miles off where they need to be.

Ten Hag has consistently said he’s been pleased enough with how things have gone. But United fans won’t be happy with what they saw in the main.

Indeed, that feeling was also there among the onlooking pundits for the game.

And watching on for Sky Sports, Jamie Redknapp ripped into the performances of both Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Antony down the right-hand side.

“They’ve been horrible at times, offensively and defensively, especially down the right side. There’s been no appetite to play at times, Wan-Bissaka and Antony. Wan-Bissaka’s lack of desire to get back,” Redknapp said.

“If Nottingham Forest show an ambition to get forward and win this game, they will. Rashford is working on scraps, but his movement is non-existent. He has to do so much more, he can play up front but he looks like he doesn’t want to run around for his team.”

Wan-Bissaka and Antony sum Manchester United up

Surely there is no way Erik ten Hag is watching this Manchester United and thinking they really are close to what they need to be?

Some of the players look so far off being top class at times it’s almost hard to watch. Likewise, there’s a distinct lack of a plan which seems to stem from the coach.

Both Wan-Bissaka and Antony were terrible in that opening 45 minutes and they simply have to be better.

United are relying on individual moments at the minute to get them points. The likes of Garnacho are luckily producing for them but over time, they’ll be found out.
