West Ham aren’t messing about in this summer transfer window as they rebuild the team in Julen Lopetegui’s image.
The Hammers are making some serious moves this summer.
West Ham have already signed Crysencio Summerville, Max Kilman and Niclas Fullkrug, while Jean-Clair Todibo is also set to sign.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has also been linked with a move to West Ham, and according to Dharmesh Sheth, speaking on Sky Sports News, there’s still optimism that this deal can get over the line.
West Ham quietly confident about signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Sheth shared what he knows about the £50m man.
“With regard to Wan-Bissaka. There is still a cautious optimism from West Ham that they can strike this deal. There is still work to do on this deal,” Sheth said.
“We have spoken about it being close for a long while, and a lot of the details are agreed already. The fee is more or less there, a little bit of work to do on that and the structure of the fee as well.”
West Ham’s defence will be incredible
West Ham always had a strong spine under David Moyes, but now, their defence may well be impenetrable.
Indeed, Todibo and Wan-Bissaka are both top-level additions to a defence that already includes Max Kilman and Alphonse Areola.
There is a slight weakness down the left side, but Emerson Palmieri is still a solid enough option.
With Edson Alvarez and Guido Rodriguez screening this back four, West Ham will be very difficult to get past this season, while attacking talent such as Summerville, Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus and Fullkrug will make the Hammers quite the force going forwards as well.
West Ham are quietly having an incredible transfer window, and there’s plenty of reason to be excited about what the east London club could achieve this season.
