Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be handed a brand new contract by Erik ten Hag after impressing in recent months.
Wan-Bissaka has been one of the more consistent performers for Ten Hag in another season of inconsistencies in the main. The £50m signing had looked to be on his way out and has interest from Saudi Arabia.
However, given his recent upturn in form and the fact Ten Hag has been selecting him, it now looks like Wan-Bissaka could stay put.
And according to journalist Alex Crook, it’s even looking like United will offer Wan-Bissaka a brand new contract.

Manchester United want to keep Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Speaking to GiveMeSport about the defender, Crook has claimed that United will look to offer fresh terms to Wan-Bissaka, albeit on reduced terms.
“I think that’s gone as far with him and Casemiro, the Saudi Pro League chiefs have spoken to intermediaries working on behalf, definitely of Casemiro, and I think Wan-Bissaka’s name has come up as well. Man Utd are telling me that they don’t envisage a scenario where Wan-Bissaka goes in this window. I think probably because they’ve taken up the year option on his contract, they’ll probably look to try and extend him to a longer-term deal on a reduced salary. I think he’s actually done quite a good job for Erik ten Hag and he’s been one of the more consistent players.”
Worth keeping
Of all the players at Old Trafford who might need to be moved on for one reason or another, you can’t really point the finger at Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The defender has always remained professional and done his job when called upon and that’s more than can be said for some in the United squad.
Getting him to sign a new contract makes a lot of sense. He is a defender who can play across the back if needed and remains one of the better one on one defenders in the league.
United can’t afford to lose players who can do a job for Ten Hag and if Wan-Bissaka will agree to a new deal, then it makes sense for everyone.
